The Horse 1st Philosophy is the bridge between two worlds. I’ve spent 30 years in the show ring, where I learned that perfection lives in the details—precision, structure, and a relentless focus on high-standard care. But when I transitioned to polo, I found a different kind of magic: the raw bond, the freedom of the field, and the deep connection of the team. My philosophy is about finding the balance between the two. It’s bringing the technical discipline of the show world to the natural connection of polo. Using my background in biopsychology, I look at the "why" behind the horse, prioritizing their mental and physical well-being above the score on the board. Innovation is the only way forward. My current project, Pony Pitstops, is born from that mission—building a network of safer, high-standard layover options across the US to ensure horse transport is care-focused from start to finish. Beyond that, my next mission is to help fund equine disease research. Having felt the helplessness of losing horses to disease, I am dedicated to helping improve treatments and develop the future of equine care. At El Lirio, we don't just play polo.
